We want this to be completely clear, so here's how it works in plain language.

How we earn money

Many links on FindMattress, including "Check price" buttons and links to brand websites, are affiliate links. That means the brand or retailer, or an affiliate network working on its behalf, pays us a commission if you make a purchase after clicking. Commission amounts vary by brand.

We tell you on each page that contains these links, near the top and close to our recommendations, so you never have to hunt for it.

What commissions don't change

• Our rankings. Brands can't pay to appear in our quiz results, lists or comparisons, or to be ranked higher.
• Our quiz. The quiz scores mattresses on fit: firmness, type, your needs and your budget. Commission rates aren't part of the formula.
• Which mattresses we cover. We include mattresses we don't earn from when they're the right fit.
• What we say. We point out trade-offs and tell you who should skip a mattress, including mattresses we earn commissions on.
• Your price. Buying through our links doesn't cost you anything extra.

Free products and sponsorships

We don't accept payment for reviews or rankings. If we ever receive a free product for evaluation, or publish anything sponsored, we'll say so clearly on that page.

How we research

We haven't physically tested every mattress on this site. Our recommendations are based on manufacturer specs and policies and on independent testers' published ratings. Read our methodology for details.
