This privacy policy explains what information FindMattress ("we," "us") collects when you use findmattress.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. We've written it to be short and readable. The main points: you can use the site without creating an account, quiz answers are stored without your name or contact details, and we don't sell your personal information.

Information we collect

Information you give us

• Quiz answers. When you take the quiz, we store your answers, such as sleep position, body weight range, firmness preference, budget and needs, so we can show your results and improve our matching. These answers are stored anonymously: we don't ask for your name, email address or other contact details to take the quiz, and we don't link your answers to your identity.
• Messages. If you email us, we receive your email address, your message and anything else you choose to include.

Information collected automatically

• Outbound click logs. When you click a link from our site to a mattress brand or retailer, we log the click: which link was clicked, on which page, and when. We use these logs to understand which pages and recommendations are useful. They don't include your name, email address or other personal identifiers.
• Analytics (optional). We may use an analytics service to see how the site is used, such as pages visited, time on page, device and browser type, and general region. Where required by law, analytics runs only with your consent.
• Server logs. Our hosting and security systems record basic technical data, such as IP address, browser type and request time, to keep the site running and secure.

Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small files stored in your browser. We use:

• Essential cookies that make the site work, such as remembering your quiz progress or your cookie choices.
• Analytics cookies, only if analytics is enabled and, where required, only with your consent.

Affiliate partner cookies

When you click an affiliate link and land on a brand's or retailer's website, that company or its affiliate network may set its own cookies to record that you came from FindMattress. That lets them pay us a commission if you buy. Those cookies are controlled by the other company and governed by its privacy policy, not this one.

Managing cookies

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings and change your analytics choice in our cookie settings, where available. Blocking essential cookies may stop features such as saved quiz progress from working.

How we use information

We use this information to show your quiz results and improve our matching, understand which content and links are helpful, respond to messages and corrections, keep the site secure, and meet legal obligations.

We don't use quiz answers or click logs to profile individuals.

How we share information

We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share information only:

• With service providers such as hosting, analytics and email providers, under agreements that limit how they use it
• In aggregate or de-identified form, such as total clicks to a brand
• When required by law, or to protect our rights, our users or the public
• In a business transfer, such as a sale of the site, with this policy continuing to apply

How long we keep information

We keep anonymous quiz answers and click logs as long as they're useful for improving the site, server logs for a limited period for security, and emails as long as needed to respond and keep reasonable records.

Your choices and rights

• You can use the site without giving us your name or contact details.
• You can decline or withdraw consent for analytics cookies where we offer that choice.
• You can ask us to access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you, such as emails you've sent us. Because quiz answers and click logs aren't linked to your identity, we usually can't find or separate out an individual's records.

Depending on where you live, including California and other US states with privacy laws, you may have additional rights, such as the right to know what information we collect, to request deletion, to correct information, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We don't sell or share personal information as those laws define it. We won't discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights. To make a request, email privacy@findmattress.com. We may need to verify your request before acting on it.

Children's privacy

FindMattress is intended for adults. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13; if one has sent us any, contact us and we'll delete it.

Security

We use reasonable measures to protect the information we hold, but no website is completely secure.

We link to brands, retailers and other sites. We're not responsible for their privacy practices, so please read their policies.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy and will change the effective date above when we do. Significant changes will be made clear on the site.
