Amerisleep makes memory foam mattresses with plant-based foams and zoned support, and it numbers its models by firmness. The model on findmattress.com is the Amerisleep AS2, the medium-firm option aimed at back and stomach sleepers.
The AS2 is 12 inches tall. A Refresh cooling cover sits over 2 inches of plant-based Bio-Pur memory foam, a 3-inch HIVE five-zone transition foam and a 7-inch Bio-Core base. It's endorsed by the American Chiropractic Association, fiberglass-free and made in the USA.
Amerisleep rates the AS2 a 6 out of 10, but an independent reviewer found it firmer, about 7.5. That puts it in firm territory for most people. In our review-based ratings it scores 4 out of 5 for edge support, motion isolation and cooling, with 3 out of 5 for pressure relief and bounce. The HIVE zoning is designed to support the hips and lower back while giving a little more at the shoulders, but the independent reviewer still judged it a poor fit for side sleepers.
Amerisleep lists the queen at about $1,549; we haven't confirmed a typical sale price. It comes with a 100-night trial and a 20-year warranty (10 years full coverage, then 10 prorated).
Who should shop Amerisleep? Back and stomach sleepers, and people with lower back pain who want a firm, zoned foam bed. Who should skip it? Side sleepers, and anyone who wants coil bounce.
For other firm foam beds, compare the Nectar Classic and Tuft & Needle Original. If you're a side sleeper, the Leesa Original is a better fit. Try the mattress quiz to narrow it down.

The Amerisleep AS2 is a 12" all-foam bed made in the USA. It has 2" of plant-based Bio-Pur memory foam, a 3" HIVE 5-zone transition layer and a 7" Bio-Core base under a Refresh cooling cover. Amerisleep calls it a 6 out of 10, but Mattress Clarity rated it 7.5, so it's firmer than the brand suggests. This Amerisleep AS2 review finds it a well-built option for back and stomach sleepers, including those with lower-back discomfort. Side sleepers should look elsewhere.
Questions about Amerisleep
Is the Amerisleep AS2 firm?
Firmer than its label. Amerisleep rates the AS2 a 6 out of 10, but an independent reviewer placed it around 7.5, which is firm. That suits back and stomach sleepers. Side sleepers, especially lighter ones, may feel too much pressure at the shoulders and hips.
Is the Amerisleep AS2 good for back pain?
On paper it's a reasonable option. Lower back pain is among its best-fit tags in our data, it has five-zone HIVE support designed to keep the hips from sinking, and it's ACA endorsed. A mattress isn't a treatment, though: if back pain persists, talk to a doctor or physical therapist.
What is Amerisleep's warranty?
The AS2 has a 20-year warranty: 10 years of full coverage followed by 10 years of prorated coverage. It also comes with a 100-night trial. That warranty is longer than the 10 years common at Casper, Purple and Helix, but it isn't a lifetime warranty like Nectar's or Saatva's.
