How they feel: two Euro tops, very different builds
The Saatva Classic puts a 3-inch Euro pillow top over a coil-on-coil system, so you get plush cushioning on top and two layers of spring support below. It comes in Plush Soft, Luxury Firm and Firm, rated about 3, 6.5 and 8 out of 10 by independent testers. Our review-based ratings give it 5 out of 5 for edge support, cooling and pressure relief.
The DreamCloud Classic Hybrid is the current 12-inch version of DreamCloud's hybrid, now labeled Firm. A quilted Euro top with cooling fibers sits over 1 inch of memory foam, support foam and pocketed coils. We haven't found an independent firmness score for this new build, so our 7.5 out of 10 is an estimate, and its ratings carry over from the older version: good bounce and edges, average pressure relief, cooling and motion isolation.
Who should pick each: DreamCloud vs Saatva by sleeper
Pick DreamCloud if you're a back or stomach sleeper who wants a firm, supportive hybrid, or if you're furnishing a guest room or a first home on a budget. Skip it if you sleep on your side, run hot or are easily woken by a partner.
Pick Saatva if you're a side sleeper (Plush Soft or Luxury Firm), a heavier sleeper, someone with back pain, or a hot sleeper. Skip it if you can't stretch your budget past $1,000.
If you like the sound of DreamCloud's policies but need a softer feel, look at its sister brand's Nectar Premier Hybrid, a medium hybrid often around $1,199. Eco shoppers can consider the Saatva Latex Hybrid.
Value and policies: same trial, big price gap
Both brands offer a 365-night trial and a lifetime warranty, so policy won't decide this one. Price will. DreamCloud's site shows about $699 for a queen, while the Saatva Classic lists at about $2,229 and is often around $1,895. Saatva adds free white-glove delivery; DreamCloud ships in a box. You're paying Saatva's premium for coil-on-coil support, firmness choice and stronger performance across the board.

Frequently asked questions
Is Saatva better than DreamCloud?
On paper, yes: the Saatva Classic outperforms the DreamCloud Classic Hybrid on pressure relief, cooling, edges and motion isolation, and it offers three firmness options. DreamCloud is the better value for back and stomach sleepers who want a firm hybrid for about $1,200 less, with the same 365-night trial and lifetime warranty.
Is DreamCloud a cheaper version of Saatva?
Not exactly. Both have Euro tops and coils, but Saatva uses a coil-on-coil innerspring with a thicker pillow top, while DreamCloud uses memory foam and support foam over a single coil layer. DreamCloud is also firm only. They're similar in concept but different in feel and range.
Which is better for side sleepers, Saatva or DreamCloud?
Saatva. The Classic in Plush Soft or Luxury Firm has a 3-inch pillow top and top-rated pressure relief, while the current DreamCloud Classic Hybrid is labeled Firm with only average pressure relief by our estimates. Side sleepers on a budget should consider a medium hybrid like the Nectar Premier Hybrid instead.
