The Nectar Premier Hybrid is a 13" medium hybrid. It has 2" of memory foam and 2" of responsive foam over 8" pocketed coils, topped by a cover with 60% more cooling fibers than Nectar's Classic Hybrid. Testers rate it 6.5 out of 10. In this Nectar Premier Hybrid review, it stands out as a couple-friendly bed for side and combination sleepers. It offers a classic memory foam hug, excellent motion isolation and Nectar's long policies. Stomach sleepers and anyone who wants a strong edge should keep looking.

Best for: Side sleepers · Combination sleepers · Couples · Back pain

What we like

  • Motion isolation rated 5/5, unusual for a coil bed
  • Medium 6.5/10 feel with 2" of memory foam suits side sleepers
  • 365-night trial and lifetime "Forever Warranty"
  • Often on sale for around $1,199 for a queen

Watch out for

  • Edge support is only average (3/5)
  • Too soft for most stomach sleepers
  • The memory foam hug may feel slow to combination sleepers who move a lot

Nectar Premier Hybrid feel and firmness

A 6.5 out of 10 is a classic medium. Twice the memory foam of the Classic lets shoulders and hips sink in. The coils stop you from sinking too far and add a little lift (bounce 3/5, estimated from testers' descriptions). It feels more "in" the bed than a latex or innerspring hybrid.

The 1" foundation layer under the 8" coils keeps the base stable. At 13" tall, this is one of the thicker beds in our dataset, so check that your fitted sheets have deep enough pockets.

Best (and worst) sleeping positions

Side sleepers between about 130 and 230 lbs are the best fit. The foam cushions the shoulder, and the coils support the hips. Combination sleepers do well too, though restless sleepers may notice the memory foam's slower response. Many people with back pain like a medium hybrid like this, but see a doctor or physical therapist if pain persists. Stomach sleepers usually need 7 or firmer to keep their hips from sinking.

Cooling, motion and edges

Motion isolation scores 5, so a partner getting up rarely reaches your side. That's unusual for a hybrid. Cooling is a 4, helped by the extra cooling fibers and coil airflow. Edge support is the weak point at 3. Sitting on the side compresses noticeably, and the outer few inches feel less stable.

If edge support matters to you, for example because you sit on the side to get dressed or sleep near the edge of a shared queen, the Helix Midnight's 4/5 edges are a better fit.

Price, trial and warranty

Tom's Guide lists the queen at about $1,799. Nectar's site shows around $1,199, which we treat as the usual sale price, though Nectar's discounts change often. The 365-night trial and lifetime warranty are among the best in our dataset, and you get them at a mid-range price.

How it compares

The Helix Midnight has the same 6.5 rating with stronger edges but slightly weaker motion isolation. Helix vs Nectar explains the trade-off. Leesa vs Nectar is useful if you're considering a cheaper all-foam bed with similar policies. If you want something firmer from Nectar, see the Nectar Classic. This bed also appears in our best mattress for couples roundup.

Our verdict

The Nectar Premier Hybrid is a safe, comfortable choice for side sleepers and couples. It has 5/5 motion isolation, a medium memory foam feel and a year-long trial at a mid-range sale price. Skip it if you sleep on your stomach, sit on the edge a lot, or prefer a buoyant latex or innerspring feel.

Questions about the Nectar Premier Hybrid

Is the Nectar Premier Hybrid good for side sleepers?

Yes. Its 6.5/10 medium feel and 2" memory foam layer let shoulders and hips sink in, while the 8" coils prevent sagging. Side sleepers between about 130 and 230 lbs are its strongest audience.

Does the Nectar Premier Hybrid sleep hot?

Testers rate it 4 out of 5 for cooling. The cover has 60% more cooling fibers than the Classic Hybrid, and coils let air circulate. Very hot sleepers may still prefer a latex or grid hybrid.

What is the difference between the Nectar Classic and Premier Hybrid?

The Classic is a 12" all-foam bed rated firm (7.5/10) with 1" of memory foam. The Premier Hybrid is a 13" coil hybrid rated medium (6.5/10) with 2" of memory foam. The Classic suits back and stomach sleepers, and the Premier suits side sleepers.
