The DreamCloud Classic Hybrid is the bed formerly sold as the DreamCloud Hybrid. It's now a 12" model labeled Firm, and the taller 14" profile belongs to DreamCloud's Luxe Hybrid. It pairs a CloudQuilt Euro top with 1" of memory foam, support foam and pocketed coils. In this DreamCloud Classic Hybrid review, we estimate it at about 7.5 out of 10 based on DreamCloud's label, because older independent scores were for the previous version. On paper it's a firm, bouncy budget hybrid for back and stomach sleepers.

Best for: Back sleepers · Stomach sleepers · Budget

What we like

  • Very low queen price, around $699 on DreamCloud's site
  • Firm hybrid support suits back and stomach sleepers
  • Coils give real bounce (estimated 4/5) and decent edges (estimated 4/5)
  • 365-night trial and lifetime "Forever Warranty"

Watch out for

  • No independent firmness rating yet for this version, so 7.5 is our estimate
  • All performance scores are low-confidence estimates carried over from the earlier version
  • Pressure relief (estimated 3/5) is limited for side sleepers
  • DreamCloud doesn't publish a separate list price, so the discount is hard to judge

DreamCloud Classic Hybrid feel and firmness

DreamCloud labels this bed Firm, which we translate to about 7.5 out of 10. The quilted Euro top adds a soft first impression, but with only 1" of memory foam you'll reach firm support fairly quickly. If you read older reviews calling the DreamCloud a 6/10 medium-firm, they describe the earlier 14" bed, not this one.

The CloudQuilt Euro top, with cooling fibers in the cover, provides most of the softness. It also gives the bed a more finished, hotel-style look than most beds at this price. Below it, adaptive support foam and pocketed coils create the firm, springy base, and a stabilization layer sits at the bottom.

Best (and worst) sleeping positions

On paper, back and stomach sleepers are the fit. A firm hybrid keeps the hips in line, and the coils make turning easy. Back sleepers over about 130 lbs and stomach sleepers up to around 230 lbs should find it supportive. Most side sleepers, especially lighter ones, will likely feel pressure at the shoulder. The DreamCloud Luxe Hybrid or a medium bed would suit them better.

Cooling, motion and edges

Our 1-5 ratings here are rough estimates adjusted from the older version, so treat them as a guide. Bounce and edge support are both about 4, which is typical for a pocketed coil bed. Cooling and motion isolation are about 3. The cooling-fiber cover helps, but expect average results on both.

Price, trial and warranty

DreamCloud's site shows about $699 for a queen and doesn't list a separate full price. That makes it one of the cheapest coil hybrids in our dataset. The 365-night trial and lifetime warranty are unusually generous at this price, which helps offset the thin independent data.

Low-confidence ratings and a generous trial work well together. If the firm feel or the cooling disappoints, you have a full year to return it. Side sleepers who like DreamCloud's policies can compare the taller Luxe Hybrid, though it isn't covered in our data.

How it compares

DreamCloud vs Nectar compares two sister brands with similar policies: a firm hybrid and a firm all-foam bed. Saatva vs DreamCloud shows what more money buys in coil quality and service. For an even cheaper hybrid with independent test scores, see the Allswell Hybrid. The DreamCloud also appears in our best budget mattress guide.

Our verdict

The DreamCloud Classic Hybrid is a low-cost way to get a firm, bouncy coil bed with a year-long trial and lifetime warranty. It suits back and stomach sleepers. Because its firmness and ratings are estimates for this renamed version, use the trial to confirm the fit. Side sleepers should start elsewhere.

Questions about the DreamCloud Classic Hybrid

Is the DreamCloud Classic Hybrid the same as the old DreamCloud Hybrid?

Not quite. The DreamCloud Hybrid was renamed the Classic Hybrid, which is now 12" tall and labeled Firm. The 14" profile older reviews describe now belongs to the Luxe Hybrid. Older ratings of 6/10 don't apply to the current bed.

Is the DreamCloud Classic Hybrid good for side sleepers?

Probably not for most. It's labeled Firm, which we estimate at 7.5/10, and it has only 1" of memory foam. Lighter side sleepers are likely to feel shoulder pressure. Heavier side sleepers may do better, but a medium hybrid is the safer choice.

How much does a DreamCloud Classic Hybrid cost?

DreamCloud's site recently listed the queen at about $699. Prices change, so check the current price at checkout. DreamCloud doesn't publish a separate list price, so the discount is hard to judge. Even so, at that price it's one of the cheapest coil hybrids in our dataset.
