Casper The One is Casper's current entry-level flagship. If you're looking for the Casper Original, it is no longer sold, and The One is its all-foam replacement. Under a soft knit cover it layers Breathe Flex open-cell foam, Align+ memory foam and a high-density base. Testers rate it 7 out of 10, which is firm for a medium-firm label. In this Casper The One review, it stands out for back sleepers, combination sleepers and couples who want minimal motion transfer at a mid-range price.
Best for: Back sleepers · Combination sleepers · Couples
What we like
- Motion isolation rated 5/5, excellent for light sleepers who share a bed
- A 7/10 feel gives back sleepers firm, even support
- Fiberglass-free and designed and assembled in the USA
- Often on sale for around $899 for a queen
Watch out for
- Low bounce (2/5) makes changing position slower
- Cooling is average (3/5) despite the open-cell foam
- Support is continuous rather than zoned
- Side sleepers under about 150 lbs may find it firm at the shoulder
Feel and firmness of Casper The One
A 7 out of 10 sits at the firm end of medium-firm. You get a light cushion from the top foam and then firm, flat support. Memory foam adds some contouring, but this is not a deep-sink bed. Because Casper uses continuous support rather than zones, the whole surface feels the same, with no softer shoulder area.
Each layer has a job. Breathe Flex open-cell foam on top is meant to keep air moving, Align+ memory foam adds contouring, and the high-density Casper Core base provides the firm support. At 11" tall, it fits most frames and standard fitted sheets.
Best (and worst) sleeping positions
Back sleepers are the best match. A 7/10 keeps the hips up and the spine fairly neutral for most body weights. Combination sleepers who spend most of the night on their back do well too. Stomach sleepers under about 200 lbs often find it firm enough. Side sleepers are the weak spot. Heavier side sleepers may sink enough to be comfortable, but lighter side sleepers will likely feel pressure at the shoulders and hips.
Cooling, motion and edges
Motion isolation scores 5, the best result on our scale, so a partner's tossing barely reaches you. Cooling is a 3. Open-cell foam helps, but this is still an all-foam bed, so hot sleepers may want a hybrid. Edges are a 3, typical for foam, so expect some roll-off near the side.
Price, trial and warranty
Casper lists the queen at about $1,149 and often sells it for around $899. Tom's Guide listed an MSRP of $999 in 2025, so expect the price to shift. You get a 100-night trial and a 10-year warranty, which is standard but shorter than Nectar's or Leesa's.
At its sale price, compare The One with Nectar's Classic, which often costs less and has a longer trial. The One makes more sense if you want a little less firmness than Nectar's 7.5.
How it compares
Nectar's Classic is firmer, cheaper on sale and has a lifetime warranty. Read Casper vs Nectar for the details. The Tuft & Needle Original is the budget all-foam alternative, covered in Casper vs Tuft & Needle. If you want something softer for side sleeping, Leesa vs Casper points to a medium feel and a 365-night trial. It also appears in our best memory foam mattress guide.

Our verdict
Casper The One is a solid, quiet, firm-leaning foam bed for back sleepers and couples. Its 5/5 motion isolation is the headline. It's not the right pick for warm sleepers or lighter side sleepers. Shoppers who want the longest trial or a lifetime warranty will find better policies at Nectar and Leesa.

Questions about the Casper The One
Did Casper discontinue the Original mattress?
Yes. The Casper Original is no longer sold, and The One is Casper's current entry-level all-foam flagship. It is a different bed rated 7/10 firm, so don't assume it feels like the Original you may have slept on before.
Is Casper The One good for side sleepers?
It suits heavier side sleepers better than lighter ones. At 7/10 with no zoned support, people under about 150 lbs often feel pressure at the shoulders. If you mainly sleep on your side, a medium bed around 5.5 to 6.5 is usually a safer choice.
Is Casper The One fiberglass-free?
Yes. Casper lists The One as fiberglass-free. It is also designed and assembled in the USA. It has a 100-night trial and a 10-year warranty, and the queen is often on sale for around $899.
